The Onboarding Wizard

The onboarding wizard is the fastest way to get from installation to a real draft without guessing which settings matter first.

The first time you access WP-AutoInsight, you will be greeted by the wizard. This process configures the best default settings based on how you plan to use the plugin.

Step 1: Choose Your Goal

Select the profile that best describes your needs. Each profile comes with pre-configured settings for writing tone and content length:

🔍 SEO Specialist

Focus: Detailed, long-form articles optimized for search engines. Setting: Professional tone, high token limit.

🏢 Busy Business Owner

Focus: Quick, professional updates to keep your blog active. Setting: Friendly tone, medium token limit.

✍️ Content Creator

Focus: Creative, engaging posts for social media and newsletters. Setting: Casual tone, flexible length.

Step 2: Connect Your AI

This is where you enter the keys you obtained from the Getting API Keys guide.

• Paste your primary key (e.g., OpenAI or Gemini).
• Click “Test Connection”.
• The wizard will verify the key instantly. If it’s valid, you’ll see a green “Connection Successful” message.

WordPress 7.0+: If you have already configured keys in the native “Connectors” screen, WP-AutoInsight will detect them automatically and skip this step!

Step 3: Your First Draft

To ensure everything is working perfectly, the wizard will generate a “Welcome” post based on your site’s name and niche.

1. Click “Generate My First Post”.
2. Wait a few seconds while the AI writes your content and creates a featured image.
3. Once finished, you can click “View Post” to see the result.

Finishing Up

After completing the wizard, you’ll be taken to the main Dashboard. This is your new home base where you can monitor provider health and trigger quick actions.

Recommended operator workflow

For bloggers and agencies, the safest way to start is:

1. Run the wizard.
2. Connect one provider first, not all of them.
3. Create one draft manually.
4. Review the output, tone, and image behavior from the Dashboard or Post list.
5. Only then turn on bulk generation or scheduling.
