Rewriting Existing Posts
Use AI to improve a post you have already written or generated. The rewrite tool takes the existing content and returns a restructured, more readable version.
What the Rewrite Does
Section titled “What the Rewrite Does”The rewrite feature sends your post’s existing title and content to the AI with instructions to improve readability, SEO structure, and flow — while keeping the same core information and tone.
It does not change your title, featured image, or SEO metadata. It only updates the post body.
How to Rewrite a Post
Section titled “How to Rewrite a Post”- Open any post or page for editing in WordPress.
- In the sidebar, find the “WP-AutoInsight Tools” meta box.
- Under the Content section, click “Rewrite with AI”.
- Wait for the AI to finish — this usually takes 10–20 seconds.
- The post content will update automatically in the editor. Review the result and publish or save as a draft when ready.
The rewrite uses your currently selected model and tone from your content settings.
Regenerate as New Draft
Section titled “Regenerate as New Draft”If a post was originally created by WP-AutoInsight, you will also see a “Regenerate as New Draft” button in the same meta box. This is different from a rewrite:
- Rewrite with AI: Improves the existing content in place. Keeps the same post.
- Regenerate as New Draft: Uses the original keywords and template to generate a completely new post and saves it as a separate draft. The original is unchanged.
The “Regenerate as New Draft” button only appears on posts that were created by the plugin.
When to Use Each
Section titled “When to Use Each”| Situation | Use |
|---|---|
| Post needs better structure or flow | Rewrite with AI |
| Post feels dated, want a fresh take | Regenerate as New Draft |
| Post was written manually, want to improve it | Rewrite with AI |
| A/B testing two versions of the same piece | Regenerate as New Draft |
- Rewrite works best on posts with real substance. If the original content is thin, the rewrite will be too.
- Use your best model for rewrites. Since you’re only rewriting one post at a time, the extra cost of a Standard or Premium model is worth it.
- Check post revisions. WordPress saves a revision every time a post is updated, so you can revert to the original content from the post editor’s Revisions panel if needed.
